Question:
I have been looking at your weight programs and I wanted to ask a few questions to see if there is help and hope for me! First off I have a lap band and have found ways to eat around the band. If I eat healthy I can’t eat a ton of food. I know some require lots of good healthy food and again I can’t eat a large amount.
I work fast food so sometimes my meals aren’t at regular eating times.
I also don’t like a ton of veggies!

Answer:
The programs are designed to incorporate all real food as much as possible… this does include vegetables. Your vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients are all found in vegetables which keep your metabolism going by fueling each cell in your body properly.
We do cater to 6-8 meals a day, and can incorporate nutrient dense puddings/drinks as one of your meals and it would be made from a nutrient dense protein powder (Pharmaceutical Grade) that contains vitamins/minerals that your body can ingest.
Weight loss is not a quick fix pill, it is a journey of gaining a healthy relationship with food, learning how to balance the right foods to keep your insulin levels down (insulin is our fat-making hormone), incorporating good sleeping patterns, getting adequate water, taking any supplements that will promote healing, and finding an exercise that you enjoy and is sustainable.

Question:
What is Functional Medicine?

Answer:
The short answer is this… Functional Medicine gets to the root of the problem instead of just treating the symptom that shows. It takes into consideration the life journey of the individual, so a timeline is essential to put together the puzzle pieces of how and when the issue started taking place. Other things considered in the assessment is sleep quality and length, stress and past traumas that could induce body malfunctioning, exercise history, history of environmental molds or toxins such as mercury fillings in the mouth, movement, water and caffeine, and of course diet, etc. It boils down to being a body investigator after all the pieces are gathered. Longer details of Functional Medicine is found at www.IFM.org

Question:
Adrenal Fatigue -I’ve read your blog post about adrenal fatigue. I think I have it. Plus my hair is falling out and I stay cold. Could I have thyroid issues and do you work with people that has adrenal and thyroid issues? And if so, what all do I need to do to get better?

Answer:
Yes, it sounds like you have hormone imbalance. An extensive blood test is needed for thyroid testing but the best way to test for Adrenal Insufficiency is through a saliva test. You can get part of the thyroid blood draw paid for by insurance but the rest of the pieces to the thyroid puzzle, such as Reverse T3, insurance will not pay for those labs, so you would have to pay out of pocket. Insurance does not pay for Saliva testing either. Both of those need to be complete to understand the right pieces to the puzzle before a proper treatment plan can take place.

Question:
I don’t feel sick to my stomach when I eat dairy but my skin breaks out in a rash and I get congested very easy. Does this have anything to do with my food or am I just going crazy?

Answer:
We don’t always have tummy aches when we eat foods we are allergic to or if we have a food intolerance. It commonly shows up in other places in the body, such as thyroid shut down, skin rash, eczema, psoriasis, or runny nose. A food allergy test will confirm exactly what foods of which you are allergic.

Question:
I have looked over your programs you offer and I’m really not sure which one I want to do.  Can I do a Lose It 2 along with the Anti-InFlammatory Drops program?

Answer:
I cater EACH program to each person, so it is VERY INDIVIDUALIZED. So yes, the Anti-InFlammatory Drops program (SHAPE) can be combined with the Lose It-2 Program.  There will be a slight cost difference because you will need to pay for the drops plus the differences in the cost of the InBody/Urinalysis.

Question:
Do I have to pay the program cost all upfront?  Or can I make installments?

Answer:
You can get the discounted rate of the price that’s listed currently under each program.  But if you need to make installments, you will need to pay 1/2 of the program amount at the first visit, then the remaining amount will have 4% added on to it to be paid off within 3 months.
